To say we are grateful to have spent months just a few miles from the entrance to Bryce Canyon NP would be an understatement. It was fantastic to go to the park as often as we wanted. If it was too crowded, we left. We weren’t rushed to SEE IT ALL in a day. Jeff was able to do a full moon hike. Some days the kids and I would venture in just to ride the bus, grab an ice cream and peer over the edge. We did some hiking (though there were many trails we didn’t make…all the better for next time!). We took part in Ranger led rocket building with the kids. We drove the scenic road to the end, more than once, and also visited the small waterfall area numerous times which is an amazing place to see and be near in the heat of the midday summer. We took Grandma there. We took friends there.
It truly is a wonderful place! If you find yourself in the area, allow a few days at least. And if you’re ever interested in the free camping options nearby (tent or RV), ASK US or a friendly face in the Bryce Canyon visitor center or the Red Canyon visitor center. Here is a collection of our pics from our 1 summer of visits to the canyon.
Because it’s too hard to choose just a few 😉
